How to Use HP Smart App for Printer Setup

1. Download HP Smart App

The app is required for setup and driver installation.

Go to 123.hp.com or your device’s app store

  • Search for HP Smart App

  • Download and install on your computer or mobile device

 

2. Prepare Your Printer

 
 
 

Ensure the printer is ready before connecting.

  • Remove packaging materials

  • Install ink or toner cartridges

  • Load paper into the tray

  • Power on the printer

 

3. Connect to Wi‑Fi

 
 
 
Wi‑Fi setup allows wireless printing from multiple devices.
  • Place printer near Wi‑Fi router

  • Ensure your device is connected to the same Wi‑Fi

  • Enable Bluetooth and Location on mobile devices

 

4. Add Printer in HP Smart

 
 
 

The app detects and connects your printer.

Open HP Smart → Plus (+) → Set Up a New Printer

  • Select your printer from the list

  • Follow on‑screen prompts to finish setup

 

5. Print Test Page

 
 

Confirm successful installation and connectivity.

  • Open HP Smart app

  • Select your printer

  • Tap Print a Test Page to verify setup
